@  pitkon : (27 July 2020 - 09:52 AM) HUGE loss :(
@  Paz : (25 July 2020 - 10:33 PM) R.I.P Peter Green :(
@  pitkon : (20 July 2020 - 07:28 AM) Hi, sed, hope you are fine and SAFE! :)
@  sed : (17 July 2020 - 02:16 PM) Hi There
@  pitkon : (08 July 2020 - 06:05 AM) To everyone with a question: I know the Chat is the quickest way to get an answer to your BB problems, but it would be much more useful to you and to other users if you posted the question in a thread (existing or new) in the Forum section. You'll get more replies (not everyone reads the Chat, believe it or not :) ) and help others who may have the same issues.
@  pitkon : (08 July 2020 - 06:03 AM) @espais Thanks for the kind words! There was a BB github, as far as I remember. Now, everything a BB user or developer needs is more or less nested here, and we are trying to run a community free of spammers and hackers.
@  pitkon : (08 July 2020 - 06:00 AM) @lempamo If BB still crashes, must be a bug I heve never heard of before. I mean the menu is one of the most stable things there are. Try changing the theme. And you are so welcome about Firefox :)
@  pitkon : (08 July 2020 - 05:58 AM) @Reyne Have you tried right clicking on the desktop to bring up the menu?
@  espais : (07 July 2020 - 04:21 PM) @Reyne: I'm running Windows 10 64-bit and pulled down this version: http://blackbox4wind...uild-by-dblake/ Works great out of the box so far (just running blackbox.exe gives you a preview).
@  espais : (07 July 2020 - 04:17 PM) Hey all, just wanted to thank you for continuing this site! Got a new laptop and immediately came here to grab bb for it. Had a question (mainly for @pitkon I suppose). Would there be any interest in migrating over to something like github for source control and having an accompanying github.io site to take care of the main how-to's? Just curious as I'd love to see bb get more exposure and I'm noticing that installs/themes/plugins/etc. seem somewhat fragmented across the forums. Might help with getting people interested in contributing as well! Just a thought :).
@  lempamo : (07 July 2020 - 03:50 PM) it's running as a shell.. and thanks for the firefox tip btw
@  Reyne : (07 July 2020 - 03:48 PM) Wondering how to use BBzero with windows 10? I see a lot of screenshots of people using it but I installed the latest version and nothing changed, no menu, nothing?

I'm brand new here so any help is much appreciated.
@  pitkon : (07 July 2020 - 03:05 PM) As for Firefox... Make sure firefox.exe is included in the exclusions list in Blackbox\plugins\bbleanskin\exclusions.rc Otherwise, window decorations will try to take over an app that shouldn't be skinned.
@  pitkon : (07 July 2020 - 02:58 PM) Are you running BB on top of Explorer or as a shell?
@  lempamo : (07 July 2020 - 02:56 PM) pretty sure it's mojmir's latest build i'm using
@  pitkon : (07 July 2020 - 12:59 PM) @byrd3242 I did read your answer, all is good. And I agree, desktop customization is disappearing, thanks to Micro$oft and Windows 10. We are still here and on deviantArt, hope we'll keep the spirit alive as long as we can. Welcome aboard.
@  byrd3242 : (07 July 2020 - 08:53 AM) @pitkon I do understand I hope you get a chance to read my response and want to thank you for maintaining this site. Blackbox on windows means a lot to me in terms of productivity and customization something I feel is lacking and slowly disappearing from the windows community.
@  pitkon : (07 July 2020 - 08:04 AM) @lempamo Which build are you referring to? 1.8 covers at least 3 BB branches.
@  pitkon : (07 July 2020 - 08:02 AM) @byrd3242 You never replied to our validation mail, but I can see you are a solid person so I just validated you. The validation method may look stupid to you, but the Blackbox community already lost two sites to spammers and scammers and we've see a lot of good sites catching the same disease and dying an early death. Sorry, won't go there. I prefer to validate everyone personally, than to risk losing a site I pay out of my own pocket. If this is not reason enough for you, then I'm really sorry.
@  lempamo : (06 July 2020 - 10:53 PM) (using windows 10 pro v2004 btw)
@  lempamo : (06 July 2020 - 10:52 PM) just got 1.18rc6 on my laptop going nicely, except for a few things... 1. if i right click on something in the main bb menu, but move to another item in that menu, bb crashes. 2. firefox's top bar is inaccessible except for a tiny row of pixels (making closing tabs a bit difficult) other than that it's real nice!
@  byrd3242 : (06 July 2020 - 06:10 PM) What are the chances I can get a validation email? I'm kind of surprised there are zero public mirrors of the compiled version bbzero don't know if that's a choice from the developer or @pitkon to drive traffic to here but kind of silly if you have to manually accept registrations for what will likely be hundreds of "throw away" accounts  . And I believe this is why I discovered I had an existing account but I think it got deleted due to inactivity since I don't think I ever got a validation email.
@  pitkon : (24 June 2020 - 05:26 AM) Hey, sed, long time no see! At least here :)
@  sed : (23 June 2020 - 09:41 PM) Hi there Peeps!! :teehee:
@  pitkon : (23 June 2020 - 10:58 AM) Sorry for the delay, this is obviously a manual system. You've been validated, welcome aboard! :)
@  Guest : (23 June 2020 - 09:07 AM) I can't believe I woke up early to try this before work and I'm stuck on forum email validation to download. Good grief.
@  Guest : (23 June 2020 - 09:02 AM) Hi, how long does it take to get the account confirmation email? I just wanted to download bbzero to try it out, made this account, still can't dl.
@  pitkon : (23 June 2020 - 07:14 AM) Hey, Barb, so good to see you! :D
@  teddybearcholla : (22 June 2020 - 05:47 PM) How's everyone?
@  cthu1hu : (20 June 2020 - 08:52 PM) I'm looking forward to an xoblite desktop and x-coal, as soon as I procure a Windows PC. Just seeing the x-coal theme brings me back and makes me happy.
@  cthu1hu : (20 June 2020 - 08:40 PM) @Pete: That's awesome, but no worries. Digging through old backup CDs is painful, for me at least. And most of mine are nearly unreadable at this point. The one qwilk uses is my favorite anyway.
@  pitkon : (20 June 2020 - 03:59 AM) Yeah, you have to run it as admin if you are using it on top of Explorer. Running it as a shell is better, but a bit tricky. You need to use both bsetshell and tweak the registry. But it works :)
@  danieljo12 : (19 June 2020 - 03:12 PM) I got it working! By running it as admin
@  danieljo12 : (19 June 2020 - 12:41 PM) Sorry im back... I was running blackbox on top of the explorer... it keeps crashing
@  pitkon : (17 June 2020 - 01:00 PM) Nadya Okoleva, if you read this please re-send using a valid e-mail addy. Thanks.
@  pitkon : (17 June 2020 - 05:32 AM) Took me some time to understand what you mean. I'm slow, sorry :) ... I have hundreds of tiles by this guy, thing is they are all in my 1999-2000 CDs. Have to look.and get back to you. This MAY take some time :)
@  cthu1hu : (16 June 2020 - 06:56 PM) Those background wallpaper tiles. The artist had a funny name, like laughing squid or something. This was early 2000s IIRC.
@  pitkon : (16 June 2020 - 04:01 AM) What tiles? You mean the box?
@  cthu1hu : (15 June 2020 - 07:16 PM) Anyone remember the name of the artist who made the tiles, like the one used on http://xoblite.net/?
@  pitkon : (12 June 2020 - 12:47 PM) You just did :) Welcome aboard!
@  Negr0Willow : (12 June 2020 - 05:48 AM) Hey pitkon, can I get a validation?
@  pitkon : (06 June 2020 - 01:54 PM) Maybe it's a browser thing? I use Opera.
@  pitkon : (06 June 2020 - 04:59 AM) Thanks for the info, Paz, but works fine for me... This IS weird...
@  Paz : (05 June 2020 - 06:29 PM) @LakesideMiners is not alone, Pete. It is the same for me.
@  pitkon : (31 May 2020 - 06:01 AM) Weird!
@  LakesideMiners : (30 May 2020 - 11:14 AM) turns out the http wont send me to https.
@  pitkon : (30 May 2020 - 05:36 AM) Probably you, no issues here :)
@  LakesideMiners : (29 May 2020 - 06:58 PM) oh and btw @pitkon you need a new SSL cert. unless that is just me.
@  pitkon : (29 May 2020 - 08:52 AM) I'm glad; and you are very welcome :)
@  LakesideMiners : (28 May 2020 - 11:04 AM) @pitkon thank you. I really like the speed of this, so im defently sticking with it.
@  pitkon : (28 May 2020 - 07:27 AM) @LakesideMiners BBZero works fine with Win 10, either on top of Windows or as shell, with some minor issues. xoblite 5 will be uploaded sooner or later with many refinements, but is basically meant to run as an "extensive shell" - meaning, on top of Windows. However, I've tried it as shell and works fine. As for moving elements, if you mean bbinterface elements you ctrl+left click on them and move them around. Ctrl+right click brings up a menu with many options.
@  LakesideMiners : (25 May 2020 - 05:39 PM) im using bbZero rc6 right now, with bbLean off and the skin "nightBlue" also how do I move elements?
@  LakesideMiners : (25 May 2020 - 04:36 PM) what build of blackbox would be the most recomned for windows 10 as of now?
@  Bad Hyena : (22 May 2020 - 04:17 PM)
@  pitkon : (09 May 2020 - 01:07 PM) Are you running it as a shell or on top of explorer? (Window's native shell).
@  danieljo12 : (09 May 2020 - 12:07 PM) Im talking about the blackbox.exe whenever i execute it it just stops responding... :wallbash:
@  pitkon : (09 May 2020 - 05:22 AM) @danieljo12 I tried it again, works for me. You mean the setup procedure doesn't work for you, right? Not Blackbox.exe itself.
@  xed : (08 May 2020 - 04:36 PM) :3
@  danieljo12 : (08 May 2020 - 04:36 PM) hmm
@  danieljo12 : (08 May 2020 - 04:36 PM) Nope im running 64bit
