You are not using Aero, right? As for Firefox, that's why I said there are newer builds. I stopped using Firefox a long time ago for various reasons. I find Opera more to my liking
Faster and simpler.
If I use the explorer shell, I just use the default Windows 8 scheme with my own background. It's not quite like win 7 Aero, but it does have some transparency. Not on the window title bars, though. They are solid. But I have blackbox set as the shell. I used to use Opera too. It's a good browser. But I preferred it when it had the option of a menu toolbar, like FF. Since they removed that, I haven't really used it much.
