crowmag's Wish List 1.) A bro@m to change bullet glyphs on the fly. 2.) For the core to remember a different style for every workspace. This was once implimented via the WorkspaceStyle plugin by Anonymints ( who I think might have been Tres'ni...). Unfortunatly, WorkspaceStyle no longer works under bbZero - it does'nt throw an error, it just doesn't do anything. I see a lot of requests for different wallpapers for workspaces and this is just a logical progression of that. Example of what WorkspaceStyle wrote to blackbox.rc:

session.styleFile.workspace1: (~style file~) session.styleFile.workspace2: (~style file~) session.styleFile.workspace3: (~style file~) session.styleFile.workspaceX: (~style file~)

3.) The ability to execute bro@ms in style files. Example:

! -------- bro@ms -------- ! change the bullet glyphs - @BBCore.BulletGlyphBMP Omicron_Persei_8.bmp ! change the titlebar buttons - @BBLeanSkin.buttonGlyphs buttonsnewbuttons.bmp

4.) Python extentions in blackbox i.e.: bbPython.dll --- That pretty much does it for me.

1) You can actually do that by calling a different menu.rc

2) NC-17's bbstyle works fine for different wallpapers in different workspaces.

3) You can use a batch file for ANYTHING and call it up via rootCommand. The batch file can include actual exes like bsetroot, scrpits with bro@ms, you name it.

4) I would love to see that, too :)

2.) The bbStyle that comes with bbZero 1.18rc3.5 not only crashes blackbox.exe but crashes Windows hard when set to change styles on a timer - at least on my Win XP sp3. But, I did get WorkspaceStyle to work - it required a blackbox restart - a reconfig won't do it. This won't help me much when I move to x64 tho, unless/until a 32-bit plugin loader plugin is made available (I think I read where this was the plan). 1.) & 3.) Yes, you can call a different menu.rc - you can do that through bbKeys too. And yeah, you can call just about anything from rootCommand, including batch files. Heck you can also use a program called bbLeanTheme that will do those things and more... But those solutions are all just kludges to the elegant simplicity of just changing a style and having bullets and buttons change with it. More than anything I want 4.).

I agree about 1 and 3. And, yes, BBLeanTheme, your baby, can do all that and more. Version 2.7 uploaded... http://blackbox4wind...h&attach_id=703

After reading a bit more on the forums (diabol's poll) it looks like the plan is to go with Lua as the scripting language for bb. So, I took a look at Lua to see if it was something I could wrap my head around.

According to this page, installing on Windows would also require  installing Ming, Git and CMake and learning how to use those as well as learning how to program in Lua. And then there is getting all that to work with Windows 7 ^ file permissions...

That's a bit further than I am willing to go. Guess I'll just sit on the sideline and watch.

It's understandable that they (the dev's) want to use Lua for a scripting language extension as they can compile it's extension right into the core and open up more of the bbAPI to the script writer. But, it' appears to be too much for me to take in at my age for it to be of interest to me personally.
