Will this work for you?

Assuming you run thwe bbKeys plugin...

Put the following line in bbKeys.rc changing KeyToGrab(?) and WithModifier(?) to whatever suites your fancy:

KeyToGrab(D), WithModifier(Win), WithAction(Exec explorer.exe /e,C:%PATH_TO_DOWNLOADS_FOLDER%)

Do a "reconfigure" after making the changes and saving the file. Go to the full post

Mentioned here previously: http://blackbox4wind...s-build/?p=2026

I have this issue in Firefox, although I'm sure it shows up in other places, too. Remembering where I download stuff is really not a solutionnavigating to my downloads folder and looking for the file there is much slower. Besides, I'm way too used to going Ctrl-J -> click the "open containing folder" icon.

Is there some workaround for this? It drives me mad.

Yeah, that's great solution, should have thought of it myself. Thank you!
