In this topic I will post experimental builds or builds which differ so little from previous versions that they hardly warrant an own version number.

Currently the build system is not fully automatic, so it takes some time to prepare these.

All the builds I post include 32bit (in the x86 folder) and 64bit (int the x64 folder) and my current settings as samples :3

Highlights of 2014-02-02:

- based on https://github.com/x...bclean-xzero450 codebase

- bbLeanBar has a new option to force a minimal height

- bugfix for a menu transparency bug

- 64bit bbLeanSkin from bbMean (as a workaround until cmake is tamed)

- contains diabol's awesome setup (with style, without hot readhead background)

EDIT: It's actuall 2014-02-02, I'm still living kind of behind the times xD

I suggest you separate X64 from X86 builds. This way each user can download their own poison :) No reason to get both and there MAY be some fatal mistakes there... :D

well, you do have a point ._.

i think i'll make a minimal package in the future, too. afterall blackbox.exe can stand on it's own (the default style is just not as pretty :D)

when i will get "to it" i'd like to use some open source instalator  (probably http://nsis.sourceforge.net/Download ) so that we

1) make all possible builds (32,64) x (xp, vista) x (release)

2) pack them with installator

3) distribute only one file

4) when installing, it will autodetect windows version and pick correct build for the architecture

5) also the installer should/could ensure that no user configuration is overwritten

And how the installer will install itself? I mean as an application that runs on top of Explorer or as a new shell, editing the Registry? I think some caution should be exercised here, especially in the case of inexperienced users.

in NSIS there is this scripting language, so i guess we will do a radio button and let the user decide

good idea, moj.

i think if we compress them right, the size of the package shouldn't even increase too much, compared to a single platform package.

so much to do, so little time

lessee...

registered, downloaded, and Snow coming for 2 days to test this on Win8 home.

I'm new here, but not to black box on Windows.

I've used BB since about 0.98b (yes, the original).

I'll be sure and provide feedback.

Does an installer mean less portability? I really like to carry with me several builds and forks (32 and 64) on my pen drive...

Noted.

bb itself does not depend on any registry settings or other global configs, so it's portable.

I'm not sure what exactly moj is doing, but the installer itself is basically just a fancy self-extracting archive.

I'm still trying to figure out how to build for XP.

The attached file contains blackbox.exe for 32bit with the latest fixes (async icon loading, fixed menu options).
