Blackbox Crashes on Launch?

Best Answer Mew , 08 February 2014 - 08:25 PM

Mew, you still haven't told us the basics, like OS, 32/64 bit, BB build etc. Not even if you ate your cake :D

Haha I fixed it XD

My computer was on for 10 days and I needed to restart it and it fixed itself XD

So I haven't been able to use BlackBox for the past week or two because it crashes on startup...

What should I do? I've tried compatibility mode but nothing has worked!

I've tried uninstalling and stuff but that didn't work either D:

Look, usually I'd ask for the log file now, but since blackbox is completely stable and absolutely unbreakable, there are no log files *cough*

Joking aside, this kind of problem is hard to debug, but let's start with the basics:

Does it immediately crash or is there a delay or does it hang?

Is there an error message?

What OS do you have?

Is it 32bit or 64bit?

Which builds have you tried?

Have you tried running blackbox with explorer as shell?

Have you tried manually disabling all plugins (commenting their lines in plugins.rc)?

Do you have rights to write to the folder where blackbox is installed? (otherwise it might crash on not being able to open setting-files read-write..)

Have you eaten your cake yet?

:3

I do have the permissions enabled, and it doesn't even start to run, it freezes when the UI is loading.
