ok here are the screenies of Coffee w Cream WIP on Cinnamon Desktop Mint 17. As you can see there are a few "glitchs".

as to the Cinnamon theme... the one shown is not coffee w cream, its Cinnamon's base theme. It just happend to have similar colors.

All these are beautiful, but this section is for uploading Linux applications' skins and themes. I don't see how these screenies fit in :(

Hey!,   These are Awesome and I see some progress, I think you be better off posting it under *Linux Speak*

I'm not sure but I think we can move it for you, is it OK with you?, Can we do it Pete?

The issues you have in the file manager can be related to my version of Gnome 3.4.2 ...I can't be sure about it because Nemo is different from Nautilus.

sorry bout that Pete, Should have paid more attention. Feel free to move it, If possible.

Paz. Nemo and Nautilus should theoretically have the same base code (hence the name). in principal gnome themes work just fine in cinnamon as they both use GTK3 and Metacity. I guess there were some changes made as nemo progressed. That said its easy enough to just pull an Agent Smith with Mint-X, and convert it to coffee w cream. Either way the eventual Cinnamon theme will be the same, as its a seperate part. from what I have discovered the issues seem to be in the gtk2 area mostly.

Ok here is where I am on this. I have most of the colors done. I have just one "Big" thing to do.... and thats where i need help

Is there any way to add color to .Svg files in GTK or am I going to have to convert them all to .Png and recolor them manually. Or alternately learn inkscape (having dificulty figuring it out) and doing the same.

Not sure I understand your question, Where do you have .svg files that you need to convert and why? Can't recall such files in my theme .. :ermm:

this is true, as I am working to port your theme over to Cinnamon I am using the default theme as a base and then transforming it into Coffee w Cream. The Default theme uses SVG files for a ton of stuff.... God how I miss the old days when everyone used Png. The reason for this is mainly because I don't actually know GTK, but I am a really good modder. Its simply just a matter of differing systems. Unfortunately the Default theme is grey instead of mocca so alot of the tabs and such are in that color. as I know .svg can be recolored in code I was just asking how to do it. Otherwise its a convert svg/png and then recolor the result job. not difficult, but not preferable.

I thought you understood I was porting the theme over to Cinnamon, as well as adding the Cinnamon Theme itself in.

Oh, well.. It sounds like a very hard work, even harder than learning GTK  ..  I didn't realize you're modifying the default theme. Why can't you just use MY theme and adjust  the cinnamon part into to it?   :ermm:

Mainly two big reasons. 1. I know little about gtk 2 or 3, Cinnamon themes are cinnamon css (which was the part I was going to produce originally). And 2. Mint X and yours are almost identical except that Mint X uses Pixbuf and yours uses Murrine.

The trick is to first mod mint x (not as hard as it sounds) then use Meld and merge the diffs (mostly in element size and engine). because the two are from the same parent branch (I am guessing  based on the similarities) one becomes the other (sorta like Agent Smith Copying himself in The Matrix Revolutions).

Also as Cinnamon is the part that controls alot of the things like Panel,Widgets, etc. This may be the reason yours has some issues on my system along with the diffs between Ubuntu 12.04.04 LTS And Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Linux Mint 17). I had the exact same issue between Mint 14 which was 12.10 and Mint 16 which was 13.10 (an issue between border color and background color that time (both Rosewood and Oak themes))

As yours is based on an older version Its unfortunately a Foward Port Job. As for releasing the finished version, Its gonna be listed as a foward port based on yours. The cinnamon theme itself can of course be included in your main version as thats a one line change to make it work.

I love your theme, and I want it on my system. And I want others to be able to use it as well.

If I had thought about it for a bit I would have figured out that the reason yours had issues on my system was version based myself.  I am glad you approve though, I had thought that I had upset you and that was never my intent. Looking over other themes to see if I could figure out a way to recolor the svg's in code revealed the answer to my original question anyway (if not the way I wanted). Nobody else uses Svg for resources, everyone else uses Png. Thats annoying but workable. I will get back on goal this weekend with at least a little more of the foward port.

Maybe you can try to convert .. http://image.online-.../convert-to-png  and then look in the code to change the assets file name to .png instead of .svg .

No way you could upset me, Go ahead and have fun with it..

No need. Gimp handles .Svg, or at least opens it. All you have to do is export to whatever format you like........except .Svg that is :wallbash:  . I have a base logo in svg, thats how I make all of my logo's.

Also thanks Paz, I will hammer away at it.
