There are a few things I want to see happen soon.

1. Ability to simply hide the titlebar.

Currently, you can set a negative margin, but being able to untoggle it through an option in the menu or bbStyleMaker or wherever would be pretty handy for people who don't want to have them. One should also be present for the menu title.

2. Pixel sizes instead of uh... ?

Incrementing or decrementing from margins usually causes 2px jumps. That's observed in the titlebar, for example, where you can set a margin of -8, for example, to make it appear 1px tall, but -7, instead of 2px tall, makes for a 3px tall bar, then 5px for -6 and so on.

3. Set any size for bbInterface frames from the context menus.

Minimum you can get is an 8x8px square. You can always change the .rc file that comes with bbInterface, but one bug I found can be reproduced this way:

  • make a frame in bbInterface, pick a color for it;
  • save configuration;
  • edit configuration, making the frame 1px tall;
  • reload configuration and see that you have a 1px line;

Try to change its color. You'll see no change. Changing it through the .rc file and reloading configuration also won't work.

4. Different style section for tray notifications.

Currently they're style the same as the toolbar, I believe. I'd like to see a way to style them anyway you like. I'm aware of programs like Growl, but after trying it for a bit, I saw no option to add margins/padding to the corner it appears on the screen. Making a style for it also requires making a .dll using a supported language. Not practical at all.

More options for notifications through bbZero, even if just to pass them to other programs, would be pretty cool.

5. On x,y,z workspace windows.

Currently you can have windows appear on one workspace or another, or on all workspaces at the same time. I happen to use some windows on more than one workspace, but not want them present on another. I'd like it if it was possible to choose on which workspaces specific windows/programs appear.

I'll add things as I think of them by editing this post.

1. I guess you mean the blackboxbar/bbleanbar. There is an autohide option.

2. Nice

3. Didn't get this. It's supposed to be 1px anyway, right?

4. Can be done, methinks.

1. No, I don't mean blackboxbar/bbleanbar. I mean the titlebar for each window and title of each menu.

3. It's supposed to be 1px yeah, but after it's set to 1px, it won't accept any changes whatsoever, be it through the configuration file or the bbinterface, unless you resize it to the minimum 8px square.

Can't be done, since both windows' and menu elements are grouped together.  You can create your own menus using bbinterface and hide the menu title, but it's complicated.

I didn't mean on a per-window basis, though that'd be cool. Just a switch to toggle them on or off, or even the option to have size 0 and have the top border be controle by the frame setting on bbStyleManager.

I already have absent titlebars and menu titles, as you can see, but that's done through negative margins, which is a hack and doesn't really let me size them exactly how I want.

If it's ever possible to make them 2px tall instead of from 1px incrementing 2px at a time, it'd make life easier. I'm satisfied with my current setup visually, but that might change over time.

I thought what you needed was titles that can be turned on or off at will, not constantly absent titles that you can achieve by doing some tricks like the one you described.

So, if you want 2px tall titles, why don't you play with font size?

Hmmm, you gave me food for thought here... Gonna try some things myself, as soon as I find some more free time, and let you know :)
