Window/title bar transparency

Best Answer pitkon , 01 November 2015 - 05:44 AM

Oh, I'm running Windows 8.1 x64. That's annoying, but hey, c'est la vie.

Don't let it get you down, mojmir is in the process of updating 32-bit plugins for 64-bit environments, I'm sure he'll get to bbtrans. Eventually :)

Hello all,

Is it possible to make title bars or windows themselves transparent?

Thanks,

Gravitas

I kinda have the same question, I'm trying to use a firefox css that works when there is no window bar (this one) so it would help me too.

I believe that there is a file called exceptions.rc in your bbLenSkin folder that you should modify but I personnaly can't find it.

Edit: Found it!

It's called exclusions.rc in plugins > bbLeanSkin, you can add the programs that should not use the window bar there.

Transparent or Semi-Transparent? As in Aero-like or just gone completely?

Sorry -- I should've said partially transparent. Similar to the Aero effect.

I'm not sure if bbleanskin has the option to adjust the alpha of the frame/titlebar.. a quick glance at the code suggests that its not but I may be missing something.

Though it would kinda be pointless if bbleanskin simply overlaps windows default frame/titlebar as reducing the alpha would just show the originals underneath. If it strips the decoration before applying its frame though I'm curious why it isn't an option already.

There is a plugin that does that, bbtrans. Not sure if it works for all OSes. You can find it, as usual, in our Downloads/Plugins section.

I tried installing BBTrans but it wasn't compatible. Which OSes does it support?

You are probably using 64-bit Windows. BBTrans works for 32-bit OSes.

Hey there,

before opening a new thread about titlebar transparancy I append my post to this thread :) I currently DO have transparency enabled for titlebar and the bottom bar for resizing windows. But I suspect the transparency to cause bbzero to not load at booting my PC. So I'd like to disable all transparency in bbZero and did everything I could find via the blackbox main menu as well as the style-files and bbLeanSkin settings file. Unfortunately I can't manage to disable the titlebar transparency.

So any help in solving this would be highly appreciated because at the moment bbZero only starts properly if bbLeanSkin is deactivated. Otherwise I only get a blackscreen and a cursor.

Thanks in advance for your help.
