The only question I have is What Desktop is that. That doesn't look like Gnome3 or Unity. Is it Enlightenment? The reason I ask is that the interface looks almost exactly like Cinnamon. Strike that I see the Gnome 3 Panel..... Looks like you have either added Mate to the mix, or your using Gnomes new desktop addons to achieve the same thing. Either way Extremely good work on the Desktop Interface Design.

Thank you my friend!  I appreciate  your kind words. It's a steeping learning curve and become a bit easier with time and a lot of trial & error  :wallbash:

..and for your question: - IT IS Ubuntu 12.04 LTS  unity2D Gtk3, No mate or any other  DE  added. The bottom panel is awn dock modified to my liking  .. The TopPanel is unity panel . (I already modified it some more) Going to upload another screenie with the changes I made so far..

Its amazing how similar our systems Look. Especially considering the Interface differances between Unity and Cinnamon. This is Mine. using Cinnamon 2.2.13 (Cinnamon Css/Gtk 3) with added Universal menu, Cairo Dock. No major Modifications added.

The way I look at it, if we pay attention to details.. the interface is far from being similar. Is it the default theme?

Some changes to the TopPanel, buttons and alternative Metacity replacing the default one. I like them both... :D

The theme I use is a mix of themes some modded by me. The Control theme is Mint X (default). Metacity is Gnome Cupertino. The Cinnamon is a modified version of Nord by zagortenay333 from deviantart. Panel Logo is mine, Cairo icons are a mix of Mint X (faenza) and Mine. Desktop Icons are Apples or Mine.

The stuff you cannot see in that screeny are MDM theme which is Renegade (mod of zwukitwo circle mdm by Zagortenay333) which is mine (both are on deviantart) and Renegade Plymouth theme (mod of the Default) which is mine (also on deviantart)

also file manager icons are Zoncolor - Sky

I generally don't do themes myself, just mods and ports (usually just for myself). Though I have been asked enough times to upload the mods that I just automatically do so (usually).

You are right of course, though I was more talking about the file manager window and the settings menu, not the theme itself. The main diffs I see are you use the Breadcrumbs style address bar (which doesn't work on mint for some reason, wish it would), Right sided Buttons ( I switch mine to the left to match OS X) and the narrow style Slider ( I prefer the older Fat style myself)

Alternately I need to redo Nemo's sidebar again (did it on LM16, dislike the standard color) which would more match the color you use on Nautilus's sidebar. and figure out how to change the Green Highlight Color to either a light violet or blue color. I had it partially changed but never completely worked out the kinks

I cannot wait to see the Finished Theme

I'm not yet Knowledgeable to start  a Theme from scratch , took me awhile to find out how to modify some elements I wanted to change, mainly colors

and then with some help of a good friend that challenged me and gave me some basic guiding lines, I just jumped to the *GTK cold water*  and Hooked into it  ...   I stayed on DA long enough to be inspired by all those talented themers in Linux community.

The two themes I released as my own I took some credit on them since I just changed them completely.. just by following the code and engines.. trying

to understand how they work. Google-ing a lot  etc..  It's fun and creative and the sharing part of it is the name of the game which I love to do

The breadcrumbs you see in my screenie is Marlin file manager I managed to download and use even though it's out of development already. I liked it on previous distros  mainly because it looks better IMHO..

To change the sidebar color and the highlight color should be easy. Just look at GTK_ WIDGETS_CSS   for sidebar background color and selected color ..

What I like the most  is the fact that you can choose exactly how it looks and function to your liking.

Marlin.... thats a fork of Swordfish right. hmmmm only used the older version that came with Redhat 7.

Thats one of the major reasons I like Linux in general, and Gtk/Gnome in specific. Easy Theme-ability is an absolute must. I would of course take it further if I had my way,  but thats a subject for a seperate post .

I think Marlin is a fork of Nautilus elementary... and I agree with you, of course. I hope you will take it further, I'm really curious of it's outcome :D

Some changes again, to borders, column headers, padding, buttons and a lot more... :D

Last main change I did is reduced the whitish background... I'll be happy to hear your opinions ...

Thanks for your feedback :)

Lol thanks Paz. Interestingly I have discussed it in great length, on Irc and to a lesser extent on Mint forums. No one agrees with me, but I will post the concept here to see what everyone thinks.

Oh and your right of course Swordfish is Qt... Marlin is Gtk. I think Swordfish was used on the old version of Elementary for Red Hat Linux 7 that I had. Still have the official disks. Swordfish is now maintained by Maui Os.....which is Arch or at least its on their Github.
