I have an old Netbook that actually runs pretty well on Linux Mint with Xfce (an SSD might have something to do with that).  I would love to get BB running on it.  I use this little guy as a toy to play around with, but also to troubleshoot with.  The idea would be to create a "Blackbox" user.

Also, if there is anything lighter than Mint, I'm open to trying it out if I can use BB with it.

And as I was typing this, I lookup D*** Small Linux... it comes with FluxBox.  I think I know what I'll be doing this weekend.  >:]

Damn small is kind of old. I'd check out some of the other *box based distros. Crunchbang used to be awesome until the creator decided to end the project (Some of the community members decided to continue onwards with Bunsen Labs linux).

Maybe you should check out Archbang, Manjaro, or Wattos? http://distrowatch.com/ is a good start.

I've always had good luck booting Puppy Linux on old hardware, but it doesn't come with any of the *box window managers installed by default.

I did however find a version called boxpup if you're interested http://www.murga-lin...pic.php?t=49468 I've never used it so I can't tell you how good it is...

Good luck with distro hopping  It's what I did for years until I found my niche.

Would agree that Bunsen Labs is a great distro now. It had a wobbly start but is going ahead at full steam now.
