When I try to run as admin on startup I am greeted with a black screen and have to manually load it up.  Was wondering if anyone figured a work around to this.  While its not my preference to run it as admin, i'de like to be able to use the menu in borderless windowed games that are forced to run as admin due to their anti-cheat software.

Loading it up manually is not really preferred since sometimes it misbehaves, the other option is to open as admin post loading but this knocks out my system tray.

Try a shell switcher/manager like ShellOn. You'll find them on the relative Forum thread.

Yeah that's interesting if you got into blackbox.exe properties under compatibility and run as administrator and launch blackbox Ritz is correct it knocks out the system tray compatibility mode doesn't help either I can see where this issue could be problematic with anti-cheat software. I'm not sure what menu Ritz is referring to however.

Applications that run in Admin mode cant be manipulated by things that are not.  So if Blackbox is running under normal privileges and a game is running on Admin when you try and bring up the Blackbox menu (win key menu) on top of the game bbkeys never gets the call.  Some anti cheat software require administrator privileges to run.

To get around this I just did away with UAC entirely through group policy.  Other fixes, and tricks did not work the way I wanted them to work(such as setting a sched task)

I haven't played any games with anti cheat software requirements atm so haven't run into a issue yet, but good to know the group policy work around sounds fairly simple enough.
