At the time I used to build menus with BBInterface that appeared on the mouse pointer coordinates, just like the regular blackbox menu, using TCL-BB in conjunction with twapi for finding out the cursor position and then executing a broam like:

@script [ @BBInterface Control SetWindowProperty Frame1 X [expr $CursorX] |@BBInterface Control SetWindowProperty Frame1 Y [expr $CursorY] |@BBInterface Control SetWindowProperty Frame1 IsVisible true ]

Is there something similar that can be done on the x64 builds today?

(TCL-BB was awesome)

Not sure if I got this right, but coordinates do appear with mouse overs on bbi. All you have to do is tick the balloon tips.

I'll explain more clearly with an example.

Let's say I have an invisible bbinterface button somewhere on the desktop, when I do a MidClick on the desktop I want to position the button under the mouse and then make it visible, the button is configured to hide again when it looses focus so in the end it behaves like the regular menu with the difference that is a bbinterface element.

I've done it before with TCL-BB and I wonder if there's an alternative method to obtain the mouse coordinates without using it.

Ah, now I got it. It would be interesting to know if there is any other way. Seems you are familiar with TCL. Wish you could share some tutorials and scripts. Nightbreed was great with TCL back in the old Blackbox days; alas, he is with us no more... :( RIP, Gary...

Nightbreed too? :( I remember about Unkamunka, didn't know Nightbreed passed away too.

I always closely followed the bb community being a somewhat harcore bb user, but I never participated too much remaining mainly a lurker, but I do remember the names of most of the people that made bb great, and it's very sad to hear some of them are not here anymore. :(

I can write down some tutorials about the scripts I used, they're nothing too fancy, but they were quite handy.

But first I have only to install some x32 build where BB-TCL works and check out if twapi still works under Win7.

About Nightbreed: I vaguely remember a motorcycle crash or something, it was crowmag who reminded me of that unfortunate incident.

Yes, it's sad when we lose talented people who also happen to be dear friends, both in the case of Nightbreed as in the case of Unkamunka. Unforunately, that's life. I guess we all need a Carpe Diem approach.

As for the scripts, anything you can upload will be more than welcome, as soon as you see fit. Thanks!
