I know it's annoying for you guys, but I really don't understand anything when it comes to tutorials of BB how to do stuff... What do I even use? BBLean? BBMean?

 

All I want is for my blackbox to look as close as possible to this ArchLinux-like desktop. Please!

First of ail, use mojmir's latest build. Works with every OS, while BBLean and/or BBMean don't.

Second of all, browse either here or on deviantArt for a style that looks as close to this screenie as possible. Save the style on your hard disc and then drag and drop it on your Blackbox desktop.

Third of all, you need to experiment a bit with plugins. True, Tutorials are a few, but each plugin usually comes with instructions. OR, you can browse again in screenshots and find the looks and the plugins you may need. The key word is experiment.

I've come to this, I've toyed around ALOT and this isn't easy...

 

Now I've tried and tried but I don't know these things:

 

1. How to get tray icons (I want just puush and League of Legends

2. Hotkey to switch workspaces?!

3. How to get rid of windows titlebars? I would love an borderless/titlebarless foobar2k (the titlebar on the visualizer/spectrum)

4. The blackbox titlebar on firefox is flickering alot (firefox titlebar)

5. How to change the "tasks" names? Like look at PVP.net Client, how do I change that name to something like "1" as in the first picture I showed you

5.5. or just how to change workspace names? Cause I can't do CTRL + Left-Click the menubar and "Edit Workspace names" nothning

Now, about your questions:

1. You can get tray icons either on the bbleanbar itself or by using a plugin like bbtray.

2. Open plugins/bbkeys/bbkeys.rc with a text editor and look for the entry Workspaces. Lots of options there.

3. If you are using bbleanskin, windows titlebars don't appear. Of course, you must have installed BB as shell.

4. To stop flickering, disable Aero/Metro.

5. Open blackbox.rc with a text editor and look for the line session.screen0.workspacenames. Change names to your liking, divided by a comma ,

I got the hotkeys, changed name of workspaces

 

But it didn't stopt he flickering, I'm currently using windows classic theme for visual style and it doesn't have aero

 

I did install bbZero as shell but they still appear, so they appear on software that has custom titlebars like League of Legends, and others like you see the "Spectrum" above foobar2k doesn't have a bb titlebar like firefox that you see above

 

Still can't make the tray icon appear either... bblean tray is activated but I don't have a "tray" icon option in bbleanbar.rc

You can use exclusions.rc in bbleanskin to exclude apps that flicker or act strangely.

There IS a tray option in bbleanbar.rc. Just add (in case it isn't there)

bbleanbar.item:                     Tray

Then, you can change hues and other stuff by ctrl+right clicking on bbleanbar and going Congiguration/Icons/Tray Saturation & Tray Hue.

Sorry but they didn't work. Titlebar is still flickering, i'm using windows classic theme so there is no aero.

 

Still can't change name of windows

 

still don't know how to remove the titlebar and the close buttons (Min, max, close), I think these are the only things I have to fix

About flickering: browse the forum, there is a solution in there - I wish I could remember where

Name of windows? You mean desktops? It's a fail-safe method, just make sure you edit, save and restart BB.

As for removing the window.title in windows, it can be done if hacked (browse the net) but then that beats the purpose of bbleanskin...
