I am running bbZero 1.18 rc3 with the default nightBlue style.

 

When windows overlap, the top bar of the front window disappears as if it were behind the other window. In the picture, Program Files is in front of My Documents, but its top bar has disappeared.

 

Is this a known behaviour of bbZero? Is there a fix?

You must be running Windows 8/8.1. There are some relevant glitches with bbleanskin under 8, soon to be addressed.  Turning off aero/metro/whatever helps, if you haven't already done it.

[font="'Roboto Slab', 'Times New Roman', serif;"]Then click Performance -> Settings... Under Visual Effects, select "Adjust for best performance', then click Apply.[/font]

Not sure if this is the right way to do it. Not running 8.1, so I wouldn't say. Hope some other 8.1 user will enlighten us.

That's the way to do it in Windows 7. In windows 8 and above there is no way to turn aero off.

 

Unfortunately for now your only option is to turn off bbleanskin.

Disclaimer: I'm on Win 7 64-bit so, I don't know if this can be a suitable workaround or not...

Anyway, if you use mojmir's bbZero build that fixes the bsetbg/bsetroot bug that prevents applying an background image in Windows 8, then it seems to me you could then use AeroBlend to at least make the window color change to something closer matching the style...

Worth a try and it's FREE.

i am trying to solve that issue (bbleanskin on win8+,win10).. we'll see if i have a time for this on a weekend
